THE STREETS

Something new has been planned in the way of street days in Wellington for next Friday, October 11, when volunteers will sell buttonholes, posies, and bunches of choice flowers and pot plants, etc., to passers by. The Mayoress, Mrs. T. C. A. Hislop, is chairman of the women's committee of the Metropolitan Patriotic Committee,' under whose auspices the street day has been organised, and a willing band j of helpers has volunteered to attend | the Town Hall on the preceding Thursday to make up buttonholes, etc., from the flowers contributed. All who are sending blooms to be sold on the Friday are asked to address them i "flower Day, Wellington Town Hall."
