DAY IN PARLIAMENT

RESUMPTION OF SESSION

A very light Order Paper confronted members of the House of Representatives yesterday, when Parliament reassembled after a month's adjournment. Members of the Opposition were ready with a small sheaf of urgent questions requiring Ministerial answers, and after these were disposed of the House proceeded to pay a welldeserved tribute to the late Mr. A. E. Jull, former National member for Waipawa. Respects were also paid to the memory of the late Mr. John Anstey, a former member of the Legislative Council and House of Representatives, and at the conclusion the House adjourned as a mark of sympathy until 2.30 p.m. today. Three Bills of minor importance made their appearance during the afternoon. One of them concerned the closing of shops, the second dealt with questions of interest to citrus-fruit growers, and the third was a Native "washing-up" measure.
