REGENT THEATRE
Unusual Film Drama
Nt>t since the advent of talking.pictures has such a radical departure in nlm technique been made as in Warner Bros.' film, "The Story of Dr. Ehrlich's Magic Bullet." Ever alert to the public's demand for the unusual, this company has pioneered nearly every new entertainment trend in the industry. Now they have shattered every precedent for dramatic frankness in telling the true story of mankind's strangest weapon. It is a tense, completely absorbing picture, flawlessly produced. "The Story of Dr. Ehrlich's Magic Bullet," which opens tomorrow at the Regent Theatre, marks a turning point in Edward G. Robinson's career. In a role utterly different from anything he has done before, he gives a performance so superb that it ranks with the finest portraits in screen history. He lives the role in a thoroughly impressive performance covering the span of years from young manhood to grey old age ■'in "a constant battle for the humanities. .His make-up throughout the picture is a triumph in itself and his -interpretation of the Ehrlich character leaves nothing to be desired. It is- a portrait that grows steadily and surely as the drama of his life and work are unfolded upon the screen. His early struggles and doubts are as completely believable as the later sureness with which he attacks the problem of finding the "magic bullet," which when shot into the blood stream will kill the dread germs of humanity's most deadly scourge. There is a strong supporting cast.
