Sir, —Some pensioners-seem to think that they are exempt from the security taxes, even if they are in receipt of the £1 per week which is allowed over one's pension, but evidently this is not so. I• am a widow on age benefit pension and have had a grant from a lodge amounting to 10s per week. On May 29 of this year I paid £1 6s and yesterday another 19s 6d taxation on the 10s per week —the pension only being free of taxes. A clear definition of the position would perhaps bring in a few more pounds. —I am, etc...
