SOOT AS A MANURE
E.M., Karori.—Soot- is a valuable manure for all crops and may be used either dry or as a liquid. When used dry it must be seasoned for a month or so before use. Soot is also very effective as an insecticide, discouraging slugs and snails and other pests. It may be used with advantage on the flower garden.
