FERRIER OUT OF U.S.

AMATEUR

CHICAGO, August 27

The Australian golfer J. Ferrier announced that he had been barred from competing in the United States amateur championship. He • said he . presumed this action was because of. his book, "Jim Ferrier's Golf Shots.!'

Ferrier stated: to the association. that he contracted to receive royalties, from the book; therefore he is ineligible."
