MEIER—SMYTH.
The wedding took place recently at the Wesley Church, Taranaki Street, of Nola (Peggy), only daughter of Mrs. E. W. Smyth and the late Dr. Smyth, and Arthur G. A., only son of Mr. and j Mrs. G. Meier, Kilbirnie. The Rev. P. Paris officiated. The bride was escorted by her j brother, Dr. Smyth, of Picton. Her| gown of white taffeta was cut on Prin- ] cess lines, the train being caught up with orange blossom. Her veil of Honiton lace (lent by Mrs. Oughton) fell from a halo of orange blossom, and she carried an arm, bouquet of arum lilies and snowdrops. The matron of honour was Mrs. Oughton, the bridegroom's sister, who wore .gold moire taffeta. Her Juliet cap "was of gold sequins and she carried a sheaf of irises and freesias to tone. Valeric and Celia Smyth, of Picton, nieces of the bride, wore gold taffeta frocks cut on Snow White lines, carried muffs, and wore sprays of real flowers in their hair. The bridegroom's brother-in-law. Mr. I P. Oughton, was best man. A reception was held in the Lyceum Club rooms, Lambton Quay, by Mrs. Smyth, who wore a long coat of black embossed velvet over a georgette frock, and a small black hat. The bridegroom's mother wore a black and gold, lame ensemble and a black hat. The bride travelled in a smart grey costume with grey picture hat and red accessories.
