MAIR—STOUPE
The wedding was solemnised recently at All Saints' Church, Kilbirnie, of Joan Evelyn, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Stoupe, Wellington 'Road, and John Edward Woolston, elder son of Mr. and Mrs. W. J. W. Mair, Lower Hutt. Archdeacon Hansell officiated, assisted by the Rev. W. Langston.
The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a trained gown of magnolia silk velvet. Her matching tulle veil, which was worn over the face, was. held in place by a coronet of orange blossom. She carried an arm 'shower of white hothouse lilies and freesias tied with white satin streamers. Misses Peggy Hounsell and Lois Mair (the bridegroom's sister) wore bridesmaids' frocks of turquoise taffeta cut princess style. Their bouquets were of ranunculi and sweet peas to tone. Mr. L. R. Mahoney was best man and Mr. R. Maisey was groomsman. The bride's mother received the guests at the reception in the Englishspeaking Union rooms. She wore a gown of black silk velvet with a matching hat, and stone marten furs, the bridegroom's mother wearing cyclamen shaded silks, a black hat, and furs.
