CASE OF LEAGUE PLAYER

The case of F. Tottey, an Australian League player who recently took part in Rugby Union football in Auckland, has been reconsidered by the New Zealand Rugby Union's executive. It is stated that on further facts which became known to the executive the admission of Tottey to the RugbyUnion game has been cancelled. An Australian "League representative, Tottey was signed on by the Halifax Club in England. He returned to Australia some time ago, and was in Auckland this season. His contract with Halifax was not completed, and that led to some difficulty regarding a clearance for him to play League in Aus-. tralia or New Zealand. His applica-' tion to play Rugby Union in Auckland succeeded and he played for Grammar Old Boys. Tottey has now returned to Australia, where he has admitted that he did not expect to be allowed to play in Rugby Union football in New Zealand. He now finds himself in the position of being keen to play football but apparently not eligible for either the Leacue nr Rnahv Union
