IMPROVING TOMORROW

Special forecast for Wellington:—

Light to moderate southerly winds.

Weather dull and cool and some drizzle likely, but improving tomorrow.

The general forecast for the Dominion as a whole is for light to moderate and variable winds, with southerly directions predominating northwards of Nelson and Marlborough. In cenl tral districts and in the far north the ! weather will be cloudy to overcast with scattered light rain or drizzle, lit will be improving, however, from the south, and conditions otherwise will be fair to fine. Temperatures will be cool. A very weak low-pressure trough has been crossing the South Island, while one anticyclone is still located to the east of Hawke's Bay and another is moving from the Tasman Sea on to the South Island. From Cook Strait southwards moderate to strong northerly winds prevailed • yesterday, while over the North Island winds were light to moderate and. variable. In Westland, Southland, and the far north the weather was cloudy to overcast with rain at times, but elsewhere it was fair to fine. Temperatures have been moderate, but there were some frosts last night in the North Island. There was a change this morning to moderate southerly winds and unsettled conditions extended as far north as Cook Strait, but elsewhere 'the weather was fair. A gradual improvement from the south has set in. It was cloudy in all four main centres yesterday, Wellington and Christchurch having a fresh northerly wind, and Auckland and Dunedin a light to moderate southerly, but moderate southerlies were general this morning. The weather in Auckland this morning was fair, but in the other centres it was unsettled, Christchurch reporting eight points of rain and Dunedin one point.
