LONDON, July 30
The Beirut (Syria) correspondent of the Associated Press of Great Britain says that a French military announcement that further classes of troops will not be demobilised is interpreted as foreshadowing a reorganisation of the French army in the mandated territories.
The Havas (French) news agencysays that Britain is detaining at Alexandria two French oil tankers, the Roxane and the Melpomene, on the ground that the petrol they are carrying is an essential war supply.
