GERMAN TROOPS
600,000 NEAR SPANISH
FRONTIER
LONDON, July 30,
The correspondent of the "Daily Express" on the Franco-Spanish frontier says that more than 600,000 German troops have been shifted into the Biscay provinces adjoining the FrancoSpanish frontier.
This contradicts German reports that a nominal garrison of 32,000 men was being maintained between Bordeaux and the Spanish frontier, and the German explanation of the presence of the big forces on the border is that regiments which were.engaged in the Battle for France are now resting.
