BLOCKADE OF CHINA

JAPANESE FORCES LAND

CENSORSHIP IN SHANGHAI

LONDON, July 30,

A Hong Kong message states that Japanese forces, continuing the operation designed to close all ports through which war materials might reach the Chinese armies and guerrillas, landed at Swabue at dawn. Other Japanese advanced inland and attacked the Chinese who are holding the town of Chenhai.

The Moscow radio says that Japanese officials have been installed at the post office in the French Concession in Shanghai and intend to censor all mail.
