TERRITORIAL CAMP CANTEENS

(To the Editor.)

Sir, —Please permit me a few lines to reply to the letter of "Young Territorial." If a wet canteen is established in each camp it stands to reason that the men are under control, whereas if they can procure liquor outside of camp only they are out of control of the authorities. Personally, I drink very little, but because the vast majority of Territorials are otherwise inclined, I am willing, in a truly democratic spirit, to give way to the rule by the majority, providing that the authorities exercise reasonably strict control over the distribution of liquor. May I make a suggestion? That the authorities, before deciding this issue, give the Territorials a chance to voice their opinions by means of voting.—l am, etc.,

ANOTHER YOUNG TERRITORIAL.
