RAYNER KNOCKED OUT

BLENHIEIM, This Day.
Vic Caltaux (Auckland), professional welterweight boxing champion of New Zealand,, knocked out Clarrie Rayner (Blenheim), in the fourth round of a scheduled twelve-round non-title bout last night. Rayner, conceding nine pounds in weight, mixed it willingly on even terms until his opponent caught him with a heavy left swing to the jaw.
THE OFFICIAL OPENING
To mark the formal opening of the shorter tramway route to Karori and Northland on Thursday, a special car will run from Bowen House to Karori at 2.30 o'clock. . The official party will include the Mayor, Mr. T. C. A. Hislop, members of the City Council, officers of the City Corporation, and representatives of the suburban progressive associations concerned. An address will be made by Mr. Hislop at the Karori Post Office and afternoon tea will later be served.
The new tracks were officially inspected by Public Works Department engineers yesterday. The line will be put into regular commission on Monday morning.
