St. Anne's Anglican Church, Northland, of which Mr. Jones had been people's churchwarden for 28 years, was crowded for the funeral service, those present including many old residents of Karori, Northland, and Wadestown, who had known Mr. Jones since his arrival in Wellington over sixty years- ago. There was also a large representation of past and present members of the staff of the Government Printing Office, where Mr. Jones was engaged from 1878 until his retirement on. superannuation in 1909, and where for a considerable time he was father of the chapel. The congregation also included representatives of the printing industry, business men, and the Church of England Men's Society, of which Mr. Jones had been a zealous member.
