FAILURE TO STOP

James Allister Fraser, a clerk and soldier, aged 30, who had pleaded guilty to failing to stop after an accident, appeared in the Supreme Court today before the Chief Justice (Sir Michael Myers) for sentence. He was ordered to pay £1 Is costs, was prohibited from driving until May 31, 1941, and was ordered to come up for sentence if called upon within that period. Mr. A. J. Mazengarb, who appeared for the prisoner, said that Fraser had brought the car in to dispose of it, and had scratched it in a slight collision with another car. His Honour said the case was certainly the mildest of its kind that had come before him and should be dealt with lightly.
