ASBESTOS PANTS.
A scene in RKO-Radio's "Tom Brown's School Days" calls for Jimmy Lydon, in the title role, to be subjected to a roasting over an open fire. How to get the close-ups without burning the boy was a problem, but the studio wardrobe department solved it with an especially "tailored" pair of asbestos trousers which will double for Jimmy's regular costume.
