Wing Commander Burrell, who is 43 years, of age, served in the air throughout, .the last war and was in Canada on an inspection mission for the Air Ministry at the Armistice. He returned to the Air Force in New Zealand ten years ago," serving as flying instructor at Wigram, chief inspector of .aircraft and training, and later superintendent of training attached to headquarters. He was prominently associated with aerial relief duties during the Murchison and Hawke's Bay earthquakes.
