FINAL RESPECTS

LATE MR. B. Y. MARSCHEL

Representatives of motion picture organisations were prominent among the many persons who attended the funeral today' of "Mr. Barrie Marschel. For the greater part of his life Mr. Marschel had been associated with the entertainment world, and the attendance at his funeral indicated the number and sincerity of the friendships he had made.

Requiem Mass was celebrated at St. Joseph's, Buckle Street. Among those present were the Prime Minister (the Rt. Hon. P. Fraser), Mr. M. J. Moodabe, governing director of Amalgamated Theatres, Messrs. E. Rutledge, M. Toomey, R. Edgar, J. Buchanan, R. Marlowe (twentieth Century-Fox Film Corporation),- J. H. Mason and R. Usmar (Theatre Management, Ltd.), W. Burton (John Fuller and Sons, Ltd.), P.Maddock (Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, Ltd.), B. Vinsen (Columbia Pictures Proprietary, Ltd., H. Righton (Motion Picture Exhibitors' Association), S. Craig (Paramount Film Service), F. W. Miller (Public Service Association), W. A. L. yon Keisenberg (Film Censor), R. Meikle and C. Tyack (Universal Pictures Pty., Ltd.), M. Ralph, J. Dunn, A. M. Tartakover, J. Shriner, H. Pearson, B. Allen, C. Cabot, R. Felton, G. Maxfield, and J. Akoorie.

The chief mourners were Mrs. L. _C. Bolton, Miss B. Don, Miss E. Archer, and Mrs. Oakley.

The pall-bearers were Messrs. Burton, Maddock, Rutledge, Toomey, Buchanan, and Marlowe.

The interment took place at Karori Cemetery.
