ACCOUNTED FOR

ABUSE IN GERMANY

(By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright.)

(Received July 5, 2 p.m.)

LONDON, July 4

The "Daily Telegraph" points out] that two of the largest and most modern French battleships, the Richelieu and the Jean Bart, are not accounted for. The former was last reported in the Atlantic and is possibly engaged in trials. The other is still incomplete. The German Press and wireless violently abuse Britain and Mr. Churchill for the action taken against the French fleet. "The First Lord of the Admiralty, Mr. A. V. Alexander, in a broadcast speech, paid a tribute to ViceAdmiral Sir James Somerville's forces and said that the casualties were only one officer and one rating wounded and the crew of one plane missing.
