WAR POLICY
POLITICAL UNITY
NEGOTIATIONS CONTINUE
DEVELOPMENTS NEXT WEEK
Though no official information is available about the proposal for political unity in the control of New Zealand^ war effort, negotiations are still being carried on between the Government and the National Party to achieve some satisfactory solution. Some developments are expected after the long weekend adjournment of Parliament. ONLY TWO SPEAKERS. Only two speakers will be heard in the Address in Reply debate which will open in the House of Representatives this afternoon. When these speeches have Concluded, the House will adjourn until Wednesday. Much depends on the course of negotiations regarding the co-operation of parties in war policy, but if the debate continues on normal lines its principal feature will be a review of New Zealand's War effort, . and of as much of the war policy as can be made public."
