UNIVERSITY TOURNAMENT
Rain throughout the period of play marred the opening of the inter-uni-versity hockey tournament at Karori Park yesterday, but nevertheless some excellent hockey was seen. The best games were those between Auckland and Otago, in the men's section, and between Canterbury and Auckland, in the women's section. Results:— Men's Section.—Auckland 1, Otago 1; Massey College 2, Victoria B 1; Canterbury 5, Victoria A 2.
Women's Section. —Canterbury Auckland 3; Otago 9, Victoria 2.
