WIDOW AWARDED £3000

LEVIN, Thfs Day.
On July 17 last year, when Mr. B. R. Way, of Levin, was proceeding from Foxton to Levin in a light car driven by James Hayfield, the car ran into an unlighted lorry, the' property of Mr. Brian L. Everton, of Levin, which had been left on the side of the road. Mr. Way died from injuries received. In the Supreme Court, Palmerston North, thfs -week his Widow; Mrs. Marjorie Weir Way> was given judgment for her full claim of £3025 4s 6d, with disbursements and costs on the higher scale, against the defendants, Everton and T. G. A. March'ant, who was'in charge of the lorry. The contention of the defendants that Hayfield was driving at an excessive speed and failed to keep a proper look-out was dismissed.
