EXCURSION TO PICTON.
A/train trip to Blenheim, launch trips to picnic places in some of the beauty spots of the Sounds; and a rowing regatta on Picton Harbour are some of the attractions awaiting holi-day-makers who take the Rangatira's excursion to Picton on Easter Monday. For visitors to Wellington who have never been to the Sounds the excursion will provide an excellent opportunity of a glimpse of these delightful waterways. At Ba.m. thu popular express steamer will leave the wharf to the strains of music by the Ist Battalion Band. Her 23-knot speed ought to get her across the open part of the Strait in a little over an hour, after which comes the delightfully picturesque run up Tory Channel and Queen Charlotte Sound to Picton, where she should arrive about 10.30. The Rangatira will leave Picton on the return trip at 2.30 p.m., and should arrive in Wellington about 5 p.m., or a little later.
