EXHIBITION CLOSING DATE
(To the Editor.)
Sir,—lt was with keen disappointment that I read the Press announcement of the Centennial Exhibition management's decision to close down on May 4. One wonders if the management is aware that the school term holidays commence on May 6. I had made plans to visit the Exhibition during these holidays, for, like many others, I found it impossible to get away during the Christmas and New Year vacation. Amongst my immediate circle of acquaintances, there are three families wishing to avail themselves of the opportunity afforded.by the school holidays to visit the. .Exhibition, but if the closing date is final, then Wellington will see none Of them. . . ■. • ;:•:.■•.■
Perhaps an arrangement could be made between the Exhibition authorities and the Education Department whereby the school holidays could be advanced a fortnight, or they could meet each other half-way by the term holidays being advanced one week and the closing date of the Exhibition being retarded, one week.—l am, etc., HOPING.
Mt. Albert, March 7.
