RUGBY, February 9.

Additions of from Is 6d to 4s a week for more than 500,000 railway workers was announced today. The general secretary of. the National Union of Railwaymen said that as the rates were applicable to overtime and so on in many sections it would mean an extra 5s or ,6s a week for adult males. The new rates are to be retrospective from January 1 and will absorb additions to the cost of living payable from that date. The increases are the result of claims for an allround advance of 10s a week and have been accepted by the representatives of all three unions.
