TRADE WITH FRANCE
BRITISH DESIRE TO REDUCE RESTRICTIONS

RUGBY, February 6.
Steps taken in consultation with France to reduce the restrictions on trade between Britain and France were mentioned by the Secretary for Overseas Trade, Mr. Hudson, in stressing in the House of Commons today in answer to a question the desire of Britain to reduce such restrictions to the minimum compatible with war necessities.
My. Hudson pointed out that under the recent financial agreement between Britain arid France purchases from France stood in a different category from those from other countries which requited the use of foreign exchange.
