SUMMER FLOWERS
SHOW AT MIRAMAR
Mr. F. S. Pope, president of the New Zealand Institute of Horticulture, officially opened the mid-summer show of the Miramar and Eastern Suburbs Horticultural Society and congratulated all concerned on the excellence of the exhibits.
The president, Mr. H. J. Crewes, expressed the thanks of the society, to] Miss V. Jacobson, Mr. and Mrs. G. S. Nicol, Messrs. W. R. Griffiths, Jenkins, and G. Aggett for officiating as judges, and to Messrs. A. Harper (manager) and Vickers (secretary) for the expeditious manner in which they had dealt j with the extra large number of entries j received. In the evening the prizes and trophies were presented by Mrs. Crewes to the successful exhibitors. Tho New Zealand Gladiolus Society's medal for the premier bloom was won by Mr. A Jackson with "Rewi Fallu." The amateur championship was taken by Mr. F. K. London ("Miss.New Zealand"), the intermediate by Mrs. J. Paterson ("Jlona"), and the novice by Mr. J. Hunt ("Rose Dawn"). The Bilby Cup was won by Mr. H. (5. Smith; the L. Pointon Memorial Challenge Cup by Mrs. J. Patersou; the Flaus Trophy by Mr. W. E. Askwlth; and the decorated table by Mrs. S. Solomon. Tho prize list is as follows:— Gladioli: Open, Mr. A.
