TRENTHAM CAMP DONATION

Sir,—As one who was privileged to attend the opening of the Salvation Army's new Hut at Trentham Camp I should like to draw attention to an item of equipment which is needed in this fine building; I refer to a wall clock of the eight-day type, which could be hung in a prominent position and serve a most useful purpose for the many hundreds who use this building every day. Aware of the many demands that are being made upon us for patriotic purposes I take the liberty'of suggesting that a shilling subscription fund be opened and enclose herewith ten shillings, being my donation, together with that of nine other local residents who have been hastily canvassed. I would suggest that an amount of five or six pounds be aimed at and the fund be handed to the Wellington Provincial Patriotic Council with the request that they arrange for the provision of the clock. —I am, etc., **...-
