NO RACING AT EPSOM

LONDON, January' 24.
The Epsom Spring and Summer Meetings, which include the Derby, have been abandoned. The Derby has had an unbroken continuity since it was inaugurated in 1780, but "during the last war four of the. contests were substitute events- at Newmarket instead of at Epsom.-
