MATERNITY HOSPITAL

LADY WILLINGDON'S VISIT

The Salvation Army Bethany Maternity Hospital was visited yesterday afternoon by Lady Willingdon, who is, with hei* husband the Marquess of Willingdon, attending the Centennial celebrations in Wellington. Accompanied by Mrs. Peter. Frascr, Lady Willifigdon was received on her, arrival by Colonel and Mrs. Grattan,' Captain Eveline Berry, matron, and Brigadier Ryder, women's social service secretary.

During her inspection of the hospital, Lady Willingdon greeted and talked with each patient, and also visited the nursery where 23 babies were seen in their cots. She received a bouquet from the patients of one of the wards, and later was entertained at afternoon tea by the staff. In speaking of the splendid work of the Salvation Army, Lady Willingdon also* referred to its activities in Canada and India.
