BROUGHTON SUSPENDED

There ,were several instances of interference, particularly in the straight, during the course of the Wellington Meeting, and one of them resulted in the suspension of W. J. Broughton for two months from the end of yesterday's racing. Broughton was found guilty of careless riding on Night Eruption in the City Handicap yesterday, allowing his mount to run across Suleiman too quickly when going to the front in the straight.

. An inquiry into a check received by Passenger early in the running of. the Kaitoke Handicap resulted in a finding that it was caused by horses coming in' from the' outside and starting others too well Wer on Passenger. No action was taken.
