INTERFERENCE IN CUP

There were several incidents in the running of the races at Trentham yesterday that were/ considered by the judicial committee. . The most important of these inquiries was into the interference suffered by Beau Vite over the last two furlongs of the Wellington Cup, but the committee, after hearing the explanation of B H. Morris, rider of Beau Vite, and G. R. Tattersall, rider of Old Bill, was unanimously of the opinion that no evidence had been adduced, to justify upsetting the result of the race.

No action was deemed necessary in the case of . slight interference to Shikari by Stencil near the finish of the Fitzherbert Handicap.

W. E. Pine, the rider of Small Boy, was fined £5 for not obeying the instructions of the starter in the TretithanY Highweight, Handicap. - E. V. Dye, the rider of Raeburn in the Wellington Cup, was warned against the danger of not keeping his mount under proper control. There .was1 considered to be insufficient evidence for any action in a complaint by, L. ,D. Berry that :W. J. Mudford had broken an engagement to ride Endorsement in the Telegraph j Handicap.
