WEDDING
LANE—BACON.
At St. Mary's Church, Karori, on Monday, January 15, the wedding took place of Miss Vivien Joyce Bacon, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roger Bacon, Picton, and Mr. Charles Burgess Lane, third son of Mrs. and the late Mr. Eustace Lane, of Hawke's Bay.
The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a smart two-piece ensemble of navy georgette, comprising basqued bodice embossed with white flowers and a pleated skirt. With it she wore a navy toque with flowing veil. A bouquet of crimson carnations, roses, and maidenhair completed her charming outfit. (.
During the signing of the register the soloist, Mr. C. Williams, sang "Where'er You Walk."
A quiet reception was given by Mrs. A. Taylor and Miss F. Taylor at 25 Hay Street, Oriental Bay, for a ievf, close friends of the bride, Miss J. Lane, a sister of the bridegroom, being among those present. Later the young couple left for a tour of the Pelorus Sounds. The bridegroom will shortly go into camp.
