"DISCUSSING" POLITICS
(To the Editor.)
Sir,—A remark made by Mr. Savage over the air shows that he evidently considers his listeners to be a simple and credulous people. Quoting a booklet received from London and written by a clergyman, Mr. Savage said he wanted his listeners to feel that he was having a nice friendly discussion by the fireside. Discussion? My dictionary gives the meaning of the word as "The act of discussing; debate; the agitation of a point or subject with a view to elicit truth." But Mr. Savages idea of a "discussion" is one-sided—he has all the say and there is no opportunity granted for the presentation of the other side except through the columns of the daily Press, which gives publicity to both sides. —I am, etc., W. H. JOHNSON.
