DISTRICT NURSING GUILD
- During the past 12 months, patients have paid 1652 visits to the surgery, and 5818 visits have been paid to patients in their own homes, states the annual report of the District Nursing Guild of St. John. The system of making a small charge for the services of nurses to those able and willing to pay has proved a success and has enaCted the work to he extended.
The sisters have bf«*n instrumental m distributing 81cwt of coal to necessitous cases. Warm, night attire, blankets, and hot water bottles were also provided when necessary. At Christmas time a distribution of bedlinen, towels, and toilet soap was made to bed-ridden patients, the children being presented with toys, books, etc. The report gratefully acknowledges heljp and assistance from supporters of the work of the guild.
