KIEL CANAL RAID

NEW ZEALAND OBSERVER

One of those who took part in the British.air raid on the Kiel Canal on September..-14 was Mi*. Melville .In-nes-Jones, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Eric Innes-Jones, of Queen's Avenue, Hamilton, states a correspondent. Mr. Innes-Jones is an observer ;in the Royal Air Force.

Little detail of the raid is given in the letter -received from the airman's wife, but it was mentioned that the machine in which Mr. Innes-Jones flew was the only one to return in safety to England. One , machine was forced down in Germany, and the other in Holland. Mr. Innes-Jones is now in France. He joined the Air Force six years ago at the age of 17.
