UNFINISHED WORK
KHANDALLAH COMPLAINT
The City Council had a habit of assembling equipment and making a start on a job. and then, when everyone was under the impression; that work was well under way, all the equipment would, be quietly, taken away and the job was left unfinished, said Mr. M. S. Galloway, president of the Khandallah Progressive Association, addressing the annual meeting of the association last night. Mr. Galloway was referring to the unfinished Nairnville Park upper ground and the uncompleted Cashmere Avenue Recreation Ground. Otherwise the association had had success in many of its applications to various authorities, he said. Concerning the rush for the 5.10 p.m. and 5.22 p.m. trains, which members described as "shocking and highly dangerous," it was suggested that the Ed class electric locomotives, which are used for goods service, should be used to haul supplementary trains consisting of ordinary carriages during the rush period.
The. election of officers resulted:— President, Mr. M. S. Galloway; vicepresident. Mr. J. A. Orr; secretary, Mr. W. E. Barker; hon. auditor, Mr. T. K. Henderson; executive committee, Messrs. A. W. Hill, H.. Desborough, C. Quinn, W. D. Goodwin, J. H. Renshaw, and R. Brown.
