Alt" Guy. the long-hitting professional, now attracted to the Poverty Bay Golf Club at Gisborne, is on his way to tho national championships, which will be played at Mlramar next, month. He was at Hokowhitu during the weekend and on Saturday, under ideal conditions, he was round in 65—eight strokes better than -the scratch, score for the course. Everything went just as it should arid his total might have been one stroke better but for the fact that his second at Riverside (484 yards) went through the green. His card read:— Out, 434344523—32; in, 333444444—33. Total, 65.
Ho had a nice-looking sequence from the eighth, to Lagoon Hill. There was only one 5 on the card, but there were six 3's and a 2.
