ACCIDENTS
A butcher, Mr. R. Boyd, 218 Onepu Road, Lyall Bay, fractured his nose and received slight concussion as a result of a collision between a motor-car and lorry in Kilbirnie at 9.10 p.m. on Saturday. Mrs. N. Fairclough, 7 Elizabeth Street, Moera, fractured her right arm when she fell on Saturday night, and Mrs. B. Hammond, 25 Nairn Street,fractured her left thigh, also through a fall. Thomas Ord, 102 Main Road, East--; bourne, aged 3i fractured his right thigh when he fell down a bank on f Saturday evening. • '''.*' Mr. G. Jones, a soldier in Trentham - Camp, fractured his right ankle in a fall during the weekend. Miss J. Howard, a waitress, injured her pelvis when'the cycle she was , riding was involved in a collision with a motor-car at the corner of Aitken and Molesworth Streets at 11.15 a.m. yesterday. Robert Wiltshire, aged about 10, 99 Nevay Road, fractured his right arm when he fell from a tree at his home * yesterday.
A flue of 10s was imposed upon David McCully, a shipwright, aged 59, who appeared before Mr. J. H. Luxford, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court today, charged with using obscene language. On a charge of drunkenneii Jip. was convicted and discharged.
