TOUCHED IN THE AIR

WIGRAM TRAINING INCIDENT

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. The wing tips of two Vickers Vildebeeste aeroplanes from the Wigram Aerodrome were slightly damaged when the machines touched while flying in the clouds above Riccarton today. The planes were engaged in formation flying when they touched. The pilots quickly regained equilibrium, and although the aileron of one machine was damaged both planes landed without mishap. They will in all probability be back in the air tomorrow. The Officer Commanding at Wigram, Wing-Commander Hodgson, said that similar mishaps, although uncommon, had occurred before, and then also the damage was slight and machines were successfully landed.
