WEIGHTS IN TWO CUPS
A number of horses handicapped for the New Zealand Cup this year were also entered for the Melbourne Cup, and the weights they have been awarded in the two big two-mile races are as follows:— Is\Z. Melbourne. Cup. Cup. Catalogue 9 2 9 0 Beaupartlr 8 13 8 11 Peerless S 4 8 4 Sly Fox 8 2 r 13 Lowenberg ..., 7 0 7 13 Dictate 7 5 7 18 Yours Truly 71 80 Aranul 7 0 6 11 The New Zealand Cup weights close-., ly follow the Melbourne Cup weights, except in the case of Dictate and Yours Truly. The Melbourne estimate of Yours Truly seems to be out of all reason, but possibly a proper outline of this horse's form was not forwarded to Victoria, as in the Caulfield Cup he was given 8.4, only 31b less than Peerless and lib more than Sly Fox. Others may accept the comparison as indicating that Yours Truly is a horse who is being leniently weighted in the Dominion.
