FIVE AMENDMENTS
DOMINION RECORD TIMES
Owing to the ruling out of all race records created at Trentham, because of some discrepancies found in the distances when a resurvey was made of the course about a year ago, several adjustments have been required in the official list jf New Zealand track records,
The record for four furlongs is now accredited to the two-year-old Surveyor, who ran the distahce in 45 S-ssec at Riccarton in .1918, thus replacing Gloaming's Trentham time of 45sec.
Pagsnelli and A.migo. who shared the five furlongs record with Machine Gun, have been removed from the table of rccofds
Glare's place ss record-holder for 11 furlongs (2min l6Jsv c; ha;; been taken by Master Brierly, who ran the distance in 2mih It 2->-ssoc at Te Aroha.
Compris, whose /mm 29sec in the Wellington Cup was the record for 1J miles, is supplanted by Argentic, winner of the C.J.C. Metropolitan Handir cap in 2min SOseC.
La Moderns, winner of the New Zealand St. Leger Stakes in 2min 56|sec, loses what was an ;a:<y record, as she is replaced by a tri? d, Greek Shepherd (Great Northern !Ht. Leger), Ngata (Wanganui Cup), arid Dusky Eve (Wanganui Cup) now being bracketed .is joint record-holders with 2min 69sec. Dusky Eve once held the record, as she did her time before Duo bettered the figures in the 1921 New Zealand St. Leger, but Ngata and Greek Shepherd came later than Duo.
Although all past Trentham records are gone so far as recognition as Dominion records is con'iemed, any new fastest times registered at Trentham will be accepted as records, with the exception of If miles, lor the distances, barring the l| miles, are now correct by resurvey. The mile and & quarter post could not be shifted to its correct position because of its proximity to the winning-post and races from there are now given as "about 14 miles."
