WORLD AFFAIRS

CESSATION OF TALKS

A continuation of the broadcast talks on Avorld affairs was sought by Mr. S. G. Holland (National, Christchurch North), who, in the House of Representatives yesterday afternoon, in a notice of question to the Acting Prime Minister (the Hon. P. Fraser), asked whether the Minister was aware that complete prohibition had been imposed on talks on world affairs over' the national stations since the outbreak of war.

In view of the widespread public desire for a continuation of these interesting and instructive talks, Mr. Holland asked that the Minister should permit them to be given, provided adequate censorship was exercised. Would the Minister, added Mr. Holland, .give directions to see that exactly the same restrictions that applied to the national stations Avere imposed on the commercial stations in future?
