BLENHEIM, August 24

The old four-masted sailing vessel, Holmwood, which 15 years ago was well known in the intercolonial trade till relegated to the oblivion of a hulk in Wellington harbour, was towed across Cook Strait yesterday and beached in Port Underwood, where it will be destroyed by fire in a few days.

The vessel was towed across Cook Strait by the Port Whangarei and beached at Whalecutter's Bay. Everything of value will be removed from the vessel before she is set alight
