HATAITAI REQUESTS
DISTRICT IMPROVEMENTS
Matters of general importance to the district as well as to ratepayers were discussed at the monthly meeting of the executive of the Hataitai Municipal Electors' Association. Mr. R. Hardie Boys presided. " ' ■' The sub-committee which made an inspection of the district with the chairman of the works committee of the City Council, Councillor W. Appleton, and the City Engineer, Mr. K. E. Luke, reported that the council had undertaken to carry out various works in the district, especially in the improvement of the footpaths. Arising out of the inspection, it was decided to make representations to the Automobile Association for the erection of warning signs at the "S" bend in Hamilton Road.. .. ■■■■■■ Other matters dealt with related to representations from the Brooklyn Association for the establishment by -the Milk Department of depots in the sul> urbs for stabling horses and delivery carts. The committee decided that th« 'association could not support the pro* posal as it was considered that cen* tralisation was more economical. The question of making representa* tions for increased bus facilities during the Exhibition was considered and it was decided to refer the matter to the ] Tramway Department.
