DEMAND FOR MOTOR SPIRIT
A reliable indication of the volume of road transport, remarks the Government Statistician, is afforded by the statistics of motor spirit released from bond. During the three months ended June 30 the total quantity was 25,777,182 gallons, as compared with 23,410,205 gallons during the corresponding period of 1938, an increase of 10.1 per cent.
