HUIA I V. TECHNICAL

Technicals very solid defeat by Huia I at Karori Park was a rather unexpected feature of Saturday's games. Although getting away to a fair start, Technical gradually lost ground throughout the match until in the concluding

stages they were putting up a very poor showing indeed. Roth teams SPitled down early, and Technical had .is mucn of the midfleld play as their opponents. The Technical right wing seemed promising, and Wahren put in some good work, it not being his fault that some accurate centres were not turned to advantage. Huia found their feet suddenly, and launched a series of attacks on the Technical goal, but some wild shooting let several firstclass chances slip. Eventually Dentice netted cleanly, and before long the same player slipped in another when the Technical goalie was caught well out of position. 0. Kelly added a third before half-time sounded. After play resumed Technical tried hard for the first few minutes, hut they lost their grip of the game, and for the greater par of the spell were fully occupied in keeping Huia away from their goal. In this they were not entirely successful, because Dentice and Kelly each added another goal. In the latter stages of the game unnecessarily rough play was noticeable in some instances. The final score was Huia 15, Technical 0.

The umpires were Messrs. W. Purves and H, F. Bollard.
