KARORI II WIN CLOSELY
Good defensive play by their backs allowed Karori to obtain a close win of 3-2 against Hutt, at Karori Park. Karori forced a hard pace at the start, and scored two goals in the first few minutes before Hutt settled down. Although Hutt attacked strongly for the rest of the spell, they could not finish off their movements, and Karori retained their lead until half-time. Early in the second spell Karori made their opponents' task harder by scoring another goal, but Hutt returned to the attack and after a long period of play in Karori territory succeeded in netting two goals. With little time left the Hutt forwards tried hard to level the scores, but the Karori defence held to the end. Perrin, Scrimgeour, and Daw, who was kept busy in the goal, were prominent for Karori. Graham and Chapman, who scored the Hutt goals, were the two outstanding forwards for their side. The Karori goals were scored by Ximmo, Fuller, and Adams. The umpires were Messrs. D. Woodfield and G. Whitham.
